Now when you are formally declared as husband and wife, it’s
time to celebrate. After all you are facing the society for the
first time as a couple so it should be something well-planned
and organized. Your guests must feel that bride and groom
together can really make a difference. To throw a bombastic
wedding reception you need to arrange everything in advance.
Your guests should not feel that party is missing something; it
should be lively and special enough to stay in everyone’s
memory forever.
This is a fact that every wedding is unique in its own way
and it totally depends upon the bride and groom and the wedding
organizers to decide how every event would be organized. Every
reception allows you to put in your own creativity to decorate
your day with the dreams you have had for this auspicious
occasion of your life. See below a wedding reception checklist;
you can change anything you don’t like or add something special
to any of the items mentioned in the list:
- Decide the wedding reception
date.
- Prepare a guest list as it will help
you set the budget and other arrangements for the
event.
- Set the budget and make a rough
estimate about how you will manage wedding
reception within that budget i.e. what to include and what
not to.
- Venue selection and booking.
- Color scheme selection and decorations
decision.
- Bridal dress selection for the reception if the bride
decides to change the outfit for the
reception ceremony.
- If you are not good at dancing start takingdance lessons a few weeks before the
day.
- Photographer selection and appointment; have a
seating with the photographer to finalize which
events to capture and how many
- photographs to be taken.
- Videographer selection and
appointment.
- Decide food menu and caterer.
- See if you want musicians or do you
want to add any games to be included at your wedding
reception.
- Don’t forget to select a wedding cake
as it is a must and place an order for it.
- Finalize guest list and order invitations.
- If you are planning to invite out-of-town
guests make arrangements or communicate properly
if the guests are suppose to make travel arrangements
themselves.
- Don’t forget minor but important things likewedding car decoration, bridal bouquet
etc.
- Check if you have arranged for all wedding
accessories like scented candles, cake topper,
fancy napkins, gifts for wedding party etc.
- Recheck everything before the day and
make sure there are no loopholes in your wedding reception
planning.
